A Flying horse. pegasus

The horse has been regarded as a sign of the emergence of an emperor and as a sacred animal that can communicate with the supernatural world. Also, it’s been said that God rides the flying hose across the sky. The following are the reasons we decided to use the flying hose as our school symbol instead of a ‘running’ horse: first, it represents that the Joongbu alumni are and will always be soaring to the top all over the world, and it also represents the spirit of our university, which aims to provide character education and expertise to meet the demands of the globalized and information-based society under a new concept; and second, Joongbu University is located in Majeon, which had prominent horse farms in the past.

A Pine(tree)

Pine trees are conifers in the genus Pinus in the family Pinaceae. As one of the ten traditional symbols of longevity, pine trees are well-known to be long-lived. As it remains green despite rainstorms and snowstorms, it has long been considered as a symbol of determination and perseverance. Moreover, in the past, dreams of pine trees were even interpreted as signs of upcoming success, prosperity and good fortune. We are a green campus surrounded by a pine tree forest on the foothills Manin Mountain, and our tree symbol represents our desire to ‘behind’ pine trees and take one step closer to nature

Rhododendron, a royal Azlea

dl Royal Azalea (Rhododendron schlippenbachii) is a species of Rhododendron. The light pinkish flowers bloom in May with 3 to 7 flowers blossoming on the end of each branch. Due to our location on the foothills of Manin Mountain, we can see the breathtaking scenery of royal azaleas blooming between the oddly shaped rocks and stones. In the language of flowers, royal azalea means ‘longing and admiration’ as well as ‘subtlety and tenacity,’ which are the perfect descriptions of the Korean people. We plan to hold the Royal Azalea Festival in May and offer delightful programs and events such as an essay writing contest, concert and sports competition
